OBSESSED Tops Box Office

Congrats to OBSESSED for topping the box office charts this past weekend. According to Reuters.com, the movie pulled in $28.5 million in ticket sales. I tell you, this movie was one of those that you hoped would do well because you like the actors, but I just wasn't sure. I'm glad I went in with an open-mind because I came out a "Facebook status updating supporter" of the film.

Because I'm not a fan of Beyonce's acting--AT all, I was concerned about rushing out to see a film that didn't involve her drawing on to her God given gifts of singing and performing. I like her, so I always want to support the moves she makes; and of course, her leading guy, Idris Elba, has ALL of my support. All types of fine, right?

Beyonce did her thing when she brought her Sasha Fierce attitude out toward the end. I was so feeling Mrs. Beyonce's character when she stepped up and stepped- out to defend her family, go B! Oh, and the stalker girl, Ali Larter, she was nerve-rattling impressive. Check the film out if you haven't seen it.

Below you will find my actual Facebook status updates; I posted them as I sat and watched the film:

Tiffany is @ the theater watching OBSESSED...so far annoyed!

Tiffany

Let me clarify. The movie is worth seeing. I'm annoyed that men (some) men can't say NO!! "Some" of them make themselves available to rescue and save women and get themselves involved in [all types of ] unnecessary skullduggery.

Tiffany

I think y'all should see it. I just wish I were @ Magic Johnson theaters with a group of my girlfriends because this here movie requires loud outbursts and I so want to yell at the screen right now.

[Don't try to act like I'm crazy for typing such info about the Magic Johnson Theaters, I've been there, and y'all have too. ;) Shoo, I would've gone there if I were near the area].

Michael Ealy for Christmas via Beyonce's Latest Video

I spotted Beyonce's latest video Halo on sandrarose.com and was excited because her leading man, Michael Ealy leaves me in awe. What a way to get into the Holiday spirit.

Funny story: I ran into Michael Ealy on my flight to Denver for the DNC back in August. Sure, I've always thought he was a "cutie" but my travel buddies, I'll call them M & M and LBoogie, admired him more than I did at the time. One of my friends was so speechless she could barely move to put her luggage in the overhead compartment. He's a mystery to me, I can't quite put my finger on him, which is why he is so intriguing. He has truly won me over. Enjoy!

He should be on display at the Museum of Naturally Fine Men....gee wiz.

Beyonce SNL Parody- In Case You Missed It.

It's cool to see her joke around. I must say, she would get more of my attention if she would've released her project sometime in 2009 or later. I need to miss her; my B focus was and is still on Barack, but this is really cute, and of course she always inspires my dance floor moves. I was rockin' out to her this weekend. Uhhh ohh ohh, uhh ohh ohhhh ohhh ohhh...

It's truly a B season. Brandy's coming back...Yeaaahhhh!!

Beyonce and Jay Z's Play by Play Wedding (Alleged) Plans

Sincerely one of my favorite couples. I so hope this story is true. See below YBF.com's minute by minute update on their possible nuptials-scheduled to go down tonight.

YBF New York correspondents are currently on the scene around 195 Hudson St. (Jay-Z’s place) which is the rumored place Beyonce & Jay-Z wedding festivities are going down today. It’s a paprazzi and media zoo to the utmost power down there and we’ve definitely found out some interesting tidbits. Here’s what YBF has seen and heard so far while on the scene:

Around 5p est today, a black SUV with full tinted windows flew through the crowd of media to enter the building’s garage. Only one paparazzo landed a pic of the unconfirmed woman inside. But she was by herself and purposely covering her face with a black and silver “Dereon like” hoodie. Another person was spotted entering the building who resembled Irv Gotti.
20 minutes later 8 black SUVs of the same kind exited the garage one right after the other. All SUVs were empty. Word on the street (from an unreliable source) was that the wedding was over and had taken place in a different location (continue)

Journalist's Open Letter to Beyonce'- Subject: Over Saturation

Jawn Murray over at AOL Black Voices issues an open letter to Beyonce concerning over-saturation of her artistry in the marketplace as well as her brand.

Here's an excerpt from his letter:

......"I recently became concerned when I heard that you intend to go back into the studio come November and plan to release a new album next summer. That's really disturbing to me.If you take the time look those artists and musicians who are master's of their craft, you will see that most of them take a few years off between projects to (1) rejuvenate and find inspiration for their next endeavor and (2) not over-saturate the marketplace. You are without a doubt teetering on the brink of over-saturation and I wanted to 'Ring the Alarm' before you become an industry bug-a-boo!As an entertainment professional who respects your hustle, I tip my hat to your gifts and salute your accomplishments. I know its not just me, myself and I who feels that if I see you on another magazine cover or hear you give another blah acceptance speech at an award show anytime soon, I'll 'Lose My Breath' and be full of 'Resentment.' "
