End of the Year Review

Hey Party People, I just wanted to send out a brief post as this will probably be one of my last blogs for the year. I'll be on vacation in DC for the Holidays (my teeth are chattering at the thought) with intentional limited computer access. I wanted to include a year end review of photos that didn't make it into my blog this year.

Please let me also give a sincere thanks to all of you who read and forward my blog site on. I am so grateful. I started this publication because of my music passion, and it has become one of my favorite favorite things to do. I love blogging.

I look forward to keeping people informed on all things entertainment, especially good music. If something blog worthy happens while I'm in the Nation's Capitol, I will for sure find a way to post it. LOL!

Chillin' @ Ricky Bell's Surprise Bday Party

Ok, I think by now, anyone I've ever encountered has an idea of how much I love me some Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky, Mike, Ralph and Johnny too. I've been a fan since '83. Well, now I consider myself a supporter since I'm a bit older, with a job in the music industry and I know a few of the members, and they are only allowed to see me go into "fan mode" at the concerts. LOL! Here are some photos from Ricky Bell's Surprise 40th Bday bash. My girl Monica, also a supporter, assisted Ricky's wife with arranging the surprise party plans and she invited me along with her for the experience. These guys rock. The Great Debaters Film Review

I attended a screening of this movie and I'm still in awe. My emotions have not returned to their proper state.

The Great Debaters, starring and directed by Denzel Washington is a story inspired by Wiley College Professor Melvin Tolson (Washington), who in the 1930's encouraged a group of African American students to start a debate team at their small southern African American College.

The team lead by Professor Tolson, in the film, went on to beat Harvard University ( it was University of Southern California who they actually defeated in 1935) all due to a professor going the extra mile and students willing to join him, they were able to turn potential into greatness.


Two of the things I enjoyed most about the film were the young students, despite the racism that was truly a blatant fact of life, it did not take them off of their journey. There weren't any "oh the white man is trying to hold us down", moments in the film, these students were in tune with their gifts and the power of words, which as a result, they left a legacy. I also enjoyed the awesome life changing quotes.

The acting in this film was beyond superb and the subtle acting was great.
The brilliant young actors:


Henry (Nate Parker) took a Denzel acting pill. He had sooo many Denzel moments. I didn't know who I was watching at times. Brilliant character delivery.

Samantha (Journee Smollet) she looked beautiful and delivered a moving and outstanding performance of Samantha.

James Jr (Denzel Whitaker- no relation to Forest) Two Words. Brilliant and Amazing. I so wanted to just squeeze his cheeks.

R.I.P. IKE TURNER

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Ike Turner, whose role as one of rock's critical architects was overshadowed by his ogrelike image as the man who brutally abused former wife and icon Tina Turner, died Wednesday at his home in suburban San Diego. He was 76.

"He did pass away this morning" at his home in San Marcos, in northern San Diego County, said Scott M. Hanover of Thrill Entertainment Group, which managed Turner's musical career.

There was no immediate word on the cause of death

Tiffany's Tidbits & New Music Videos

Chaperoned at my 6 year old nephew's class field trip. All I can say is kudos to the teachers and folk who work with children on a daily, you all truly have my support. I was responsible for keeping track of 3 little boys, one, including my own nephew, and I'm happy to report, I didn't lose any of the kids, however I lost a few weave tracks from pulling on my own hair. I mean, I have a really cute weave, but the children just had me all rearranged I didn't know what to do.

Attended church on Friday night, I had to leave a few things at the altar for the Lord. I am just not equipped to handle everything, so I thought I'd take my Father's advice and just leave a few thangs on the altar to be worked out with some higher power AMEN....AMEN!

Worked out this weekend. While working out at the gym, I ran into Tocarra from America's Next Top Model and BET. She looked great! Wait until you all see her new body. She is really "doing it" in the area of fitness.

I posted some new videos that made me feel good and excited about music, so I wanted to share them. If you don't get a chance to watch all of them, please atleast watch the Snoop Dogg one. LOL. Hilarious!

Chris Brown's- This Christmas- You Betta Sing Boy!

Ok, this chil' is killing me with his version of Donny Hathaway's, This Christmas. I bet Donny wouldn't be mad at him for this version. His runs and vocal styling are A-PLUS. I wish he would record more of this style on his CD's though.

I'm one of Chris's grown fans and when I attended the screening of the film, I walked away more impressed with his singing ability.

...Wait, is he of legal likeable age? Just wanted to make sure.

Rapper Pimp C- Found Dead in Los Angeles

Rapper Pimp C was found dead this morning at an upscale hotel on Sunset Strip.

L.A. County Fire Department paramedics, responding to a 911 call, found him in his bed at the Mondrian Hotel. Pimp C, whose real name is Chad Butler, was a member of UGK, a rap duo that had a No. 1 album in August.

The hotel released the following statement: "Mondrian received calls this morning from the family of Chad Butler inquiring about his whereabouts. Mr. Butler had checked into the hotel on 28 November and, according to the callers, was to have checked out yesterday. Security personnel went to Mr. Butler's room and found him in bed, apparently expired. A 911 call was placed at about 9:20 a.m. and paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department responded and pronounced Mr. Butler dead."

It's unclear how Butler, 33, died. The L.A. County Sheriff's Department is investigating. (LINK CONTINUED)

Remembering Donda West 1949-2007

UPDATE: It is being reported that Donda West's passing was the result of a "cosmetic procedure".

Donda West, the mother of Kanye West and former chairwoman of Chicago State University's English department, passed away Saturday from undisclosed causes, according to a spokesman for the family. She was 58.

According to multiple sources, West was in Los Angeles and her death may have been the result of complications from a surgical procedure; more specific information was unavailable at press time. SOURCE-UPDATED

Check out this dude David Sides below on the piano. Am I late? This guy just took "amazing" to the next level. According to his Myspace page, he has been playing piano by ear since the age of 10. He is taking current chart topping songs to the next level. I mean, like who has the sheet music to T-Pain's, "Buy You a Drank?" Check him out. I posted a total of 3 of his videos...u gotta see for yourself what I'm raving about. The piano is my favorite instrument, I've been known to cry at the sound of a chord change. This brother got me in tears. I've never witnessed anything like this.

NBA Entertainment League Tip Off Party

This past weekend I did some work at the NBA Entertainment League's Tip Off Party. This is a full on celebrity and entertainment professionals league that was established 11 years ago to help market and brand the NBA. The NBAE league operates similar to the NBA, except the players are actors, musicians and entertainment execs, there's no pay, and they are not suited and booted when they arrive to their games. At this year's tip off party, there was a ring ceremony for the championship team, a player's draft and a hot performance by Ice Cube. Whoa!
And last but not least, I finally got the chance to do the Soulja Boy Crank Dat dance. Wow, watching the tutorial on You Tube really helped me out. Y Me Uuuuuuu (flying away now)

A calm and pleasant weekend is what I had. I hung out with my girl Monica from D.C.

Had a New Edition siting- Ricky & Ronnie. It's always good to have an N.E. siting.

Ricky informed us that BBD were going to perform for Gabrielle Union's bday bash (I'm still trying to find photos from that party) he also informed us that Bobby, Ralph and Johnny were performing that same night at a Barry Bonds party. Always good to see the best boy band since the Jacksons.

I did a 5mile walk over the weekend. I think I'm gonna add walking to my workout routine. It's really refreshing to be outside than in the boring gym.

Yesterday, I hung out with my oldest nephew. He's my 6 year old road dog. It was day 2 of him teaching me how to the the Soulja Boy dance. I'll have the video footage of that soon. I'm trying to get the first half of the dance down first and then I'll post.

I love creative writing. Thanks for letting me share my thoughts with y'all.

VH-1 Hip Hop Honors- Performance
